Combine Fundraising with your Virtual Event

How to use built-in tools on athleteReg and PledgeReg to create a successful and engaging virtual fundraising event.

Although the current live event landscape is in rough shape, we have seen a significant increase in donations to organizations using PledgeReg this spring and summer, especially those that have an event (often virtual event) component to engage and challenge fundraisers.

With the cancellation of in-person events, a lot of organizations have pivoted quickly to create a virtual event with the goal of ensuring it keeps participants engaged. Some examples of this include using the virtual challenge tools that give participants multiple goals to aim for on the activity side, while maintaining fundraising goals at different levels to let fundraisers know what they are accomplishing.

Another key part to keeping fundraisers engaged is communication. This sounds obvious, and a lot of events are doing a great job, but we also see a lot of events fall down in this area; a mis-step that can cost the event or charity in real dollars and in reputation. Email communication is very easy to do with our email schedule tools on both our registration platforms and PledgeReg. The ideal email is short and sweet with a simple call to action. Set it, don’t forget it with our scheduling tools!

For example: send a quick email for fundraisers to set a goal of emailing 5 friends for donations one week and the following week an email to share their donation page on Facebook. We will be releasing a sample email guide in the coming weeks, so make sure to stay tuned!

As always, if you have any questions on how to use the tools mentioned above, email schedules, virtual challenges, challenge goals, fundraising goals, or anything else, don’t hesitate to email us at Support@athleteReg.com
