Patrick Sullivan, our Technical Account Manager, hopped on camera to walk through six updates that went live recently.
[0:22] Outside the US option, [1:02] NENSA custom alert copy, [1:27] French translation expands, [1:50] waitlist withdrawal confirmations, [2:36] multi-inbox PledgeReg notifications, [3:13] age + gender mix for teams.
1. No more hunting for “outside the US” in the state dropdown
On the participant information screen, registrants pick their state or province from a dropdown. If someone’s address falls outside the US, Canada, and Australia, there’s an option for that, but it used to be sorted alphabetically and “buried down by the letter O.” Nobody could find it, even though plenty of events pull registrants from outside those three countries.
The option now sits at the very top of the list. Anyone registering from abroad sees it immediately instead of scrolling to hunt for it.
Why it matters: this is one less reason for international registrants to get stuck mid-registration and email you asking how to sign up.
2. NENSA gets custom license alert copy
The New England Nordic Ski Association asked for updated language on invalid license alerts, and we built it in. When a participant enters an invalid NENSA license, they’ll see a pop-up written by NENSA itself.
Why it matters: it’s a small detail, but it means the participant experience reflects the voice of the organization they trust, not just a generic system error.
3. French translation keeps expanding
The translation project for Quebec events keeps growing, giving participants a registration page that translates into French from start to finish.
Why it matters: language shouldn’t be a barrier between your event and your participants. If you’re running an event in Quebec or serving French-speaking participants, this shows the platform can flex to meet your community where they are.
4. Auto waitlist withdrawals now trigger a confirmation email
If you use the auto waitlist tool, this one saves you real time. When a participant withdraws and the next person on the waitlist is automatically charged and moved in, the withdrawn participant now gets a confirmation email letting them know their refund is on the way.
Why it matters: it’s time back on your plate as event day approaches, exactly when you have the least of it to spare.
5. PledgeReg notifications can go to more than one inbox
Fundraising events just got easier to manage. PledgeReg now has an additional email field, so charity points of contact can get the same notifications you do.
Why it matters: if you’re running a charity or fundraising event, your nonprofit partner no longer has to wait on you to relay information. They see what you see, in real time.
6. Combined age and gender settings for team categories
Save the best for last. Team category setup now supports a combined total age range and a required gender mix. “I think it’s huge… I think it opens the door to a lot more types of relay events in your team races.” Thanks to BC Bike Race for the inspiration.
Why it matters: this is a genuinely new category type, not just a tweak. If you’ve ever wanted to offer a co-ed relay or an all-ages masters division but didn’t have a way to enforce it at registration, you do now.
